The Seven Powers for Conscious Adults help us shift our mindsets by first changing how we, as adults, see and respond to children. By practicing the Powers of perception, attention, unity, free will, acceptance, love, and intention, we become more attuned to children’s needs and change how we experience conflict and connection.
Within that safe environment, the Seven Skills of Discipline give adults practical tools for teaching children how to regulate emotions, set boundaries, solve problems, and build executive function. These everyday skills transform behavior challenges into learning opportunities and are supported by Structures such as the Safe Place, which nurture both self-regulation and connection.
Together, the Powers, Skills, and Structures of Conscious Discipline provide a framework for supporting children with respect and compassion. By focusing on co-regulation and self-regulation, we help children learn to manage upset and develop lifelong skills for success and wellbeing.
